Having been not only a young student arriving at registration day without knowing anyone and also a Mentor for 1st year students, I know that arriving at Técnico on the first day is scary and it is very easy to feel lost and discouraged.
The Mentoring Programme is definitely what helps the most on this day, and beyond. It was with pleasure that I helped my group of Mentees not only during the first day, but throughout the year, and I can say that it was very rewarding. So if you are a Técnico student and have never been a mentor: apply!
The opportunity to be a Mentor for international mobility students at Técnico is an experience I will never forget. It was an excellent way to have an international experience and communicate with other cultures, which helped me discover a little more about myself. During class times, we end up not having as much interaction with international students, and getting to know them is a great opportunity for anyone.
I strongly recommend that you participate in this project. I will definitely go!
It's a great feeling to be able to help new students who arrive as lost as I was. It was a really good opportunity to share my personal testimony and meet new people.
The Mentoring Programme also allows, throughout the academic year, all Mentors to have countless opportunities not only to have fun, but also to deepen other types of knowledge with workshops and training.
